That is how it works:

for every order we receive, To calculate estimated shipping emissions, a formula is used. Based on these estimates, a portion of our proceeds goes to carbon removal companies vetted by Carbon Direct scientists. These companies use that money to remove the CO2 emissions caused by our transports. Any additional funds will go towards further developing carbon removal technologies.
